I’m pleased to share with you the latest version of the service directory. The directory contains services that we’ve delivered for many years, but also some new, innovative services that have been developed. The aim of all these services is to reduce reoffending and enable the service users to develop their skills, resources and wellbeing.
We will work closely with our service users to make sure the solutions are right for them as they move towards maximising their potential. To help us to do this we’ve developed a personalised model of service delivery that allows a considerable amount of discretion to practitioners and service users in deciding what will work best for them, in line with the resources available.
This openness means that only those services which users and practitioners value will be used. Feedback from service users and the impact they have on people’s lives will be vital in our ongoing development of our services.
However, we want this directory to have multiple uses catering for all audiences. With this in mind our ambition is to make our services available to everyone who would value them, not just those people who have been sentenced by a court. We see this as a first step towards making our ambition a reality.

The directory includes an overview of these interventions covering provision such as Community Payback, Accredited Programmes and Rehabilitation Activity Requirements. The directory also includes Wales CRC's approach to managing Through The Gate (TTG) interventions, supporting service users on release from custody to reintegrate back in to the community and desist from crime.
Examples are given of how our Community Payback projects support service users making reparation to the communities in which they offended and in developing a wide range of skills to equip them for employment and to live a crime free life.
An overview of our suite of accredited programmes provides an insight into the offence focussed interventions that can be incorporated into an individual sentence plan to tailor the management of risk to service user need and focus on behaviours directly linked to risk of serious harm.
To compliment our focus on responding to risk and harm on an individual basis, we are able to offer Rehabilitation Activity Requirements (RAR). RAR activity days are designed by the Case Manager and Service User, they are bespoke and holistic and enable an individualised approach to addressing offending behaviour, they can be delivered on a group or individual basis as appropriate. The RAR is a flexible requirement as new issues arise these can be addressed throughout the service user journey.
Wales CRC are committed to ensuring that our services and interventions are of the best quality that they can be and that we remain innovative in our approach. The Wales CRC Services Directory will be updated on a quarterly basis to reflect a pro-active response to changing needs, emerging themes and what works.
