A key objective of our work is to change the behaviour of an offender. During a period of supervision, an offender manager or other specialist staff will work with an offender to help them develop the skills they need to lead law abiding lives.

They do this through a series of Interventions such as those listed below and courts are able to direct offenders to take part in these specially designed courses.

Courses are usually delivered in a group setting and can last from three months to two years. Sessions are usually 2.5 hours and are delivered once or twice a week in groups of 10-12 offenders. The offender is supported throughout by their offender manager, who will help them to understand everything they are doing.

Building Better Relationships (BBR)

BBR is a flexible programme designed for perpetrators of intimate partner violence. The programme aims to reduce the harm and likelihood of reoffending for men who are violent or aggressive within a domestic setting.

Thinking Skills Programme (TSP)

The programme aims to reduce reoffending by teaching basic problem solving skills and develop the way people think and behave. It considers all aspects of an offender’s life which may contribute to law breaking.

Control Of Violence for Angry Impulsive Drinkers (COVAID)

This is aimed primarily at young, male binge drinkers who are aggressive or violent after drinking. It looks at reducing aggression and violence by tackling anger, impulsivity and binge drinking behaviour.
