School thanks offenders

Groups of offenders paying back for the crimes they committed have helped to transform a local primary school during the half term break.

Service users completing Community Payback activity with Wales Community Rehabilitation Company (CRC) have been working to refurbish parts of Willowbrook Primary School in Cardiff.

Supervised groups carried out painting and decorating work around the school, helping to transform the playground, play centre and corridors. They also undertook work to plant new shrubs that will allow for some privacy at the front of the school.

Headteacher Steve Davies said: “The amount of work covered in just a few days was amazing and their work has really made a huge difference to the appearance of the school helping preserve longevity for our outdoors equipment and freshening up the inside which was much needed.”
